Connah’s Quay Nomads have unveiled their plans for a new facility in Deeside which includes a 4,000-seater multi-use stadium.
Former Sky Sports broadcaster, Bryn Law hosted the ‘Quay Vision’ event at the Ty Calon facility in North Wales on Tuesday – announcing the club’s development plans for the future.
Bryn Law, who has been affiliated with the club for a while, said, “They’ve (Connah’s Quay) been moving around and sharing with other clubs for way too many years now, but now wants to have its own home.”
The Nomads’ have ground shared with multiple clubs in the local area including Flint Town United, where they are currently located.
Multiple sponsors, FAW officials, Welsh Government officials and fans of the Nomads were in attendance to hear the news of the plans.
The new stadium is planned to be built to UEFA standards, allowing it to host European and international football matches.
“A new home, and that in itself would open so many new doors for the football club in terms of potential because that stadium would be built to international standards, which would mean that it could be a venue for men’s and women’s international football. International football will be played at Connah’s Quay Nomads’ home,” Law announced.
The stadium would be shared with local rugby club Shotton Steel RFC and would be of a sufficient standard to host international rugby fixtures.

Another huge ambition for The Nomads is to become a full-time club. Right now, Connah’s Quay is a mix with some full-time players but most are part-time. The New Saints are the only team in the Cymru Premier League that is fully full-time.
First team manager John Disney shared his thoughts on this special day for the club: “Having been here for many years, I felt quite emotional. It’s very inspiring for everyone at the club.”
“I’m really excited for it and so should everyone else” Disney added.
FA Wales development manager, Joseph Donkor was also in attendance to give his views on the project.
“I want to help take this league and our clubs forward and I think it’s a really exciting opportunity here” Donkor said.
“I would be really loathed if we didn’t take this opportunity because I think it ticks all sorts of boxes.”
